If you would have told me 10 years ago “Farrahn, I predict in 10 years, YOU’ll be taking maternity pictures for JANET.” I would have thought you’d lost your mind…and fortunately, I would have been SO wrong because here we are…she is certainly getting ready to welcome a baby boy. I don’t doubt for one second that Janet (Nunu) wont be an excellent parent because she’s an awesome “Aunt Nunu” to my God kids and her little niece Harmony. They love her! It’s just going to be a different experience watching her with a little one during that teeny tiny stage, but as I stated, I know that those natural mothering skills will kick in and she’ll do a great job, and I’m excited to watch her journey. Hopefully, I’ll be called a few more time to take pictures along the way.

I’ve enjoyed editing these pictures, and I had  a very hard time choosing which ones to share for sneak peeks. She’s got the smallest and cutest little seven month bump that I’ve ever seen! It’s probably a good thing that I don’t live in Augusta because I would have wanted to try all sorts of new things with her and her bump, and I know she would have been all up for it! Anyway, I appreciate being asked to help capture this huuuuge moment, and I rrrreally hope that I’m able to come up when this little one enters this world! Eeek! Exciting!

She’s definitely no stranger to the camera, but this time she had to learn to work with a new little accessory.

I wanted to see the happy, laughing, and softer side come out for this shoot, and I have to say…that side is just as beautiful.

Love these intimate shots!

There’s a second part to our shoot that I’m holding off on sharing, but just know that I am so excited about it that  IT IS KILLLLLING ME to not show them to the world (or at least those in the world that I know), but clients’ wishes (especially those that I love and adore so much) are ALWAYS respected here. 😉

Thanks for looking!

Thank God for patience because HE knows that Jawelle (Jae) and I had to have it for this shoot to happen. I mean, we talked SOOOO much about the weather over the last month or two that I felt like we became a little closer than we would have otherwise. The rain continued to ruin our plans…weekened…after weekend…after weekend. I think eventually we both just prayed that baby girl would be patient with us and Mother Nature. Luckily, we were able to make the shoot happen.

Again, I’m thankful for the support that I am continuously getting, and it’s always great when people suggest me to their awesome friends and family members. I believe Jae found me through suggestions from a few friends. Not only was she so sweet, but her boyfriend and mother were pretty sweet too! I did something that I don’t normally do, and I shot a birthday party (see previous blog) AND this maternity shoot. I played it cool, but after being in the sun, chasing babies for pics, etc……..I was DOG TIRED. I also knew I  had a 10 hour drive ahead of me. As soon as I met Jae and her family, I felt very positive vibes, and I just knew that all was going to go well. We chatted throughout the shoot, and I remember leaving the shoot and calling my boyfriend (as I do after every shoot), and just telling him how this family was such a breath of fresh air! I wouldn’t have wanted to work with any other family on the evening of her maternity shoot.

Prayers for a safe delivery, Jae! I’m looking forward to someday getting baby girl in front of my camera! 🙂

Piedmont Park is just so huge that I never think to suggest it for maternity shoots, but Jae was all up for it! I love the city behind them!

Her little dog, Wiz, was a nice touch, with his little cute Polo shirt. LOL!

There are certain moments in life when you stop and think “Is this happening? Yep. It is. I am getting OLD!” My dear friend’s “little” sister is having a baby. We’ve been banking on this baby being a girl since the moment we found out. I’ve been thinking of the awesome shoots we’ll have, and Ciera’s been thinking of the awesome girly tutu’s and cute outfits that will adorn her. Anywho, Casey came down for her babyshower and although we weren’t working with much time we were able to get some beautiful shots that I hope she’ll treasure forever.

I can’t wait to meet Baby Chloe’ this summer!

Chloe’s parents! We were just missing her little brother.

I also went to Casey’s baby shower & I can no longer go to events of friend’s without toting my camera and capturing the awesomeness! 😉

The “Beer-ritas” were a HUUUGE hit!

Casey’s mom, Mrs. Sally, made the cupcakes, cake, food, and gift baskets for the shower. I’m pretty sure she could make a living planning events! I was amazed at how GREAT of a job she did.

The thing I am starting to RRREALLY love about maternity shoots is the anticipation of being asked to do newborn pics for my maternity clients. Eeek! 🙂 Also, I sort of try to check in to see how my clients are doing. For the most part this means checking in on your social networks from time to time. It’s pretty exciting watching how anxious parents to be are! Anyhow, Kelly-Ann and Nick came up to Atlanta for maternity pictures, and I truly enjoyed working with them. They needed very little direction and vibed sooo well together. Some couples just have “it”, you know? Getting them to have those special moments together was a piece of cake, and I think little Levi is going to be a perfect addition to their family. I’m hoping to do Baby Levi’s newborn pics, but even if I don’t, I can’t waaaait to see him! 😉

Hello family and friends (whether you are current or a soon to be friend)!

Ah. It just feels good to be here, present on my trusty little blog. As you can imagine, this last semester has been hectic. I’m pleased that I did not have to COMPLETELY abandon photography. I was able to meet with a few families for sessions. The Burnett’s were one of the first for 2013. We met for their maternity pics in January. Then, I had the pleasure of meeting with them at their home in March for a newborn session with their first baby girl, Sofia Grace.

One thing I have come to learn about newborn photography is that you MUST be patient. I’ve worked with about five newborns at this point, and I have only had one sleep the session away. Anyway, little Sofia let me know immediately that she was running the show in this home, at least for now. LOL! Her mom has these super cute headbands, and I had these super cute poses and ideas, but after she’d had enough she definitely let us know! I think that’s what I love about newborns, in a way they are predictable and then again they aren’t. Although they’re all so tiny and adorable and you know they wont be running away from ya, you still never know exactly what you’ll get!

It was great getting to work with the same family for these MAJOR MAJOR happenings in their lives.

I just love shooting during this time of the day. The “golden hour” light is pure perfection. It never disappoints and compliments my beautiful clients so well.

and then fast forward a couple of months… 😀

I love it when I catch them stretching out. So cute!

I have decided to offer announcement cards as an additional printing option. For pricing details please check out my Investment page.
